PURPOSE:
To secure quality suppliers of material and components while ensuring target delivery dates are met. The successful candidate will have a background in purchasing and possess strong negotiation skills. The successful candidate will work primarily with current contracts, review current pricing, source alternate vendors and suggest change if opportunities are recognized. Candidate will review vendor performance to ensure we are working with the best vendors related to supply and price. Cross training will also be provided for production control tasks to ensure the company is in a robust position.
DUTIES:
• Reviews material inventory levels and determines appropriate quantities and delivery dates are met to ensure production schedule can be achieved.
• Provides inputs for long term planning and forecasting.
• Monitors the material market and observes economic trends affecting prices and lead times.
• Works with all departments to ensure that delivery problems are flagged, communicated and addressed.
• Leads development of new suppliers while maintaining open communication and relationships with existing suppliers. Monitors and provides updates on supplier performance.
• Assists production control in requirement planning.
• Works to control and reduce external spending while developing a robust supplier base.
• Ensures positive internal/external customer communication is established and maintained.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Professional designation, Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration is preferred but not a requirement.
• Highly motivated and able to prioritize; takes a “hands on” approach to all tasks.
• Ability to take a proactive approach to overcome challenges and achieve results.

Maintenance and Facilities Team Member - Thursday, April 05, 2018

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1 - Rotating Shift

BASIC PURPOSE:

To perform facilities and equipment preventative maintenance in a safe and timely manner. Conduct general repairs as laid out by the Preventative Maintenance System, Team Leader and/or production priorities.

DUTIES:

• Repair and maintain equipment, facilities, forklifts, vehicles, tractors, trailers.
• Undertake preventative maintenance tasks on shop and yard equipment.
• Provide clear access to all areas of the plant and yard, and provide a good overall appearance of the facility.
• Provide support and assistance in facility projects including renovations and improvements.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production related plant, or equivalent maintenance related field.
• Good general working knowledge of trades including electrical, plumbing, welding, mechanical, fabrication.
• Working knowledge of running equipment, including bobcats, forklifts, tractors, scissor lift.
